It's not about reading to impress anyone else. It's about reading for the sheer enjoyment of it all...
A year ago I read a sample on my Kindle of Karen White's The Time Between. It grabbed my interest. I wanted to read more but have been waiting for the price to go down. It has not appeared in my local library yet either. I finally broke down and used a credit to download the Audible version. Mistake. The narrator of the main character, Eleanor, is really bringing this story down for me. The sample I read was not depressing, but she is reading it so melancholy that I just can't take it anymore. I will get ahold of a hard copy somewhere (maybe even fork out the dough for the Kindle version) and read it myself. I know I will enjoy it much more. It's an interesting story and deserves a better presentation than this narration. I just needed to vent. There now. I do feel better.
