Where the Red Fern Grows - Wilson Rawls

I read this as a 9 or 10 year old, but had forgotten specifics in the story.  In fact, I had forgotten just how incredibly well-written it is.  I remember I cried the first time through, but I still have tears in my eyes as I write this review and will probably cry at the drop of the hat each time I think of Old Dan and Little Ann over the next few days.  The emotion in this story just grabs your heart and doesn't let go.  The dogs, the boy with morals and ethics, the family with a strong faith in God....  it's the perfect story, and SO well told.  Thank you, Mr. Rawls, for writing such an enduring love story that is absolutely unforgettable.  Just like Old Dan and Little Ann.
