The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (The Chronicles of Narnia)
I didn't read this until adulthood and it was a v-8 moment! How did these books escape me as a kid? You love and care about the characters and the spirituality is so strong. Thank goodness for C.S. Lewis. I read this book with my then-5-year-old and he was intrigued and waiting each night for the next chapter. He knew the White Witch was bad, he knew Aslan was good, he got it.
